Opening Acamedic year 2009-2010

On friday september the 4th was the opening of the academic year. The keynote speaker for the evening was prof. Ton de Leeuw with his keynotespeech "Het spanningsveld tussen onafhankelijkheid en betrokkenheid: de “governance” van een zich ontwikkelende Universiteit ".

 Dictation Papiamentu

On Tuesday 7th of April, The University of the Netherlands Antilles in cooperation with Fundashon pa Planifikashon di Idioma (FPI) are organizing a dictation of Papiamentu. Interested applicants can register through fax or e-mail till Friday 3rd of April. There will be prizes for the winners of the dictation. Information session "Een regulatory board voor Curacao"

On Friday 3rd of April, the University of the Netherlands Antilles and Aqualectra are organizing an information session, entitled: "Een regulatory Board voor Curacao". The book "Reflections on a Utility Regulator for Electricity and Water on Curacao", written by Dr. Ir. Rudi Hakvoort and Drs. Ir. Steven Martina, will be discussed during this evening. This session will start at 20:00 in the Aula of the UNA.
 

Conference "Hóben na kaminda pa referèndem"

On Tuesday 31st of March, Thursday 2nd of April and Saturday 4th, students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Economics of the University of the Netherlands Antilles presents a conference, entitled: "Hóben na kaminda pa referèndem". On the first two days there will be presentation of the group pro and contra of the negotiations. The conference will conclude with a debate on the last day. This event is organized to inform the youth of the Curacao community.

Launch Career Center

The opening of the Career Center will take place January the 16^th, 2009. During the opening, the students will get the opportunity to take a look in the kitchen of the Career Center, and more important, to get in contact with companies.

Dies Natalis celebration (the UNA’s birthday)

The UNA will celebrate its 30th birthday. The dies speech will be performed by Mr. Russell Shorto:" The birth of Modernity in the Dutch New World". After the official ceremony their will be a great performance of our local artist Ilvia Gustina.
